Living the Right Kind of Life
Character, Discipline, Focus, Respect, Charity and Virtue seem to be forgotten words these days, but not at Hayes Martial Arts!

Developing the Right Kind of Habits Often times we focus on bad habits and how to stop them, but fail to develop good habits in their place. Through discipline, consistency, and hard work, students develop habits that ultimately shape who they are and how they live.
Becoming the Right Kind of Person Are you the type of person that dares when others say don't? Do you have confidence, focus and determination even when things seem hopeless? Do you see obstacles as stepping stones towards greatness? Training at HMA is not just about kicking and punching, it is also about building attributes that will enable you to Actualize your Potential!.
Principles
"Sow a thought, reap an action; sow an action, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a character;sow a character, reap a destiny."
Discipline forms Habits that build Character.
Here at Hayes Martial Arts, we train two disciplines: Kajukenbo and Balintawak. Both are unique; together they are awesome!

KAJUKENBOKajukenbo is not only recognized as America's first martial art, but also the perfect street fighting art that combines karate, judo, jujitsu, kenpo and kung fu. Students become well versed in fighting techniques from all ranges of attack.

BALINTAWAKThe core of Balintawak training is a "counter to counter" style. Students learn skills designed to help them respond defensively and offensively from various angles and ranges. The stick is the primary training tool. It is also emphasized that it is just that ... a tool, to help train the individuals balance, speed, body flexibility, reflexes, and power.
