With a heavy heart I received the news that our dear friend and fellow HMA student, Rey Cantu's life was taken from us [in an act of senseless violence].
Rey and his family have been a part of our HMA family for over 10 years. Rey was a hard working student who modeled his commitment, devotion and work ethic not only in class but also in everything he did. The greatest example that Rey modeled before us was that of love. His love for his family was without question. He didn't just bring his kids to class, he trained with them; he didn't just cheer for his kids in sports, he coached them, and he not only talked about his love for his wife, he lived it!
On behalf of our Hayes Martial Arts family, we want to extend our deepest condolences to his wife Celeste, and to his children Eli, Genevieve and Noah. Our heart, love, thoughts and prayers go out to you during the difficult time. Thank you so much for sharing your family with us.
To TeamHMA and our Kajukenbo / Balintawak Ohana; let us be a blessing to the Cantu family by showering them with our love, prayers, words of encouragement and whatever financial support we can give. The family has set up a "Go Fund Me" page in support of the Cantu family and we are encouraging everyone to make a donation to the family. Any and every amount you give makes a difference, so please give whatever you can great or small.
